Student Life includes more than academics! We want the DCS students to have varied experiences through the arts, physical activity, and technology. Opportunities to interact with and learn from guest speakers, and participate in field trips, will broaden their knowledge and ability to communicate with others. Serving within the community, church, and school family will enable students to impact the Kingdom through biblical action. We want academics and additional learning activities to instill a joy of learning that will result in each student becoming a life-long learner.
EXTRA CURRICULAR CLASSES: Each grade will participate in Chapel, Physical Education, Music, Art, and Computer classes once a week.
FIELD TRIPS: 1 or 2 Field Trips per class that relate to the curriculum will be taken each year.
GUEST SPEAKERS: When appropriate, guest speakers will expand students’ knowledge of topics being studied.
SERVICE PROJECTS: Each class will participate in at least 1 service project per year to experience and reinforce being a Christian servant.
RECESS: All classes will have a Noon Hour Recess, plus one or two additional recesses each day depending on the grade level and extracurricular class that day. We have new playground equipment and a new basket ball court that was installed for the 2023 school year.
LUNCH: Students will need to bring a sack lunch to school each day. We do have microwaves for students who would like their lunch warmed.
Students have the option to purchase a chicken finger meal from Friday's on Tuesday and Pizza meal from Domino's on Thursday. Parents order through the online parent portal. Ordering is opened on Friday and ordering is turned off on Monday for the current week's meals.

OPENING: It will consist of the Pledge to the American Flag, Christian flag, Bible; Attendance, Prayer, and Announcements.

SPECIAL THEME DAYS: Students will have an opportunity to participate in a variety of special days, depending on the grade level.
PROGRAMS: An all school program will be presented each semester. A Christmas program is planned for 1st semester and the 2nd semester program is to be decided.
UNIT #40 TRANSPORTATION: If you live along a Unit #40 bus route, you can be transported to DCS and home after school. Please complete a bus form if you are considering bus transportation.
AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM: To be Decided
SPIRIT WEAR: You will have an opportunity to order DCS clothing at Parent Orientation and Open House.
